Text is an essential component of design. The interplay of image and text can create effective communication and attract attention. We encounter language and text in a wide variety of media, pop culture, current events, podcasts, political messages and advertising. A brand cannot do without a slogan, a corporate design cannot do without a statement. In addition to visual design, copywriting is an elementary tool that needs to be learned.


Which choice of words is right for which context? What do you need to consider if you want to put your ideas in writing or convince others? What is storytelling? What scope does verbal communication offer and how can you meet the needs of your target group?


The course introduces various text forms and their specific expressive possibilities in a multifaceted and practice-oriented way. Through reading and analysis, skills in dealing with language are taught. We will creatively and critically try out very different fields of text production, read and write in different genres, reflect, discuss and give each other feedback. At the same time, we experiment with different media and bring our results into a creative form that is presented at the Bergwerk.
