Potential of a common methodology

With the emergence of the “writing culture” debate in anthropology in the 1980s and the so-called “ethnographic turn” in the 1990s in the field of contemporary art began a critical discourse that questioned methodological and theoretical interactions in both fields. This reflection, which has been ongoing for decades, provides fundamental questions and insights when it comes to determining a range of methods in the newly established discipline of design anthropology. In addition to retrospections, the lecture provided practical insights as well as perspectives into the mutual recognition between anthropology, art and design.
